1. Where do I find the offices of Hasso - Rent a Car?

2. How is the car hire procedure?

  • When you want to hire a car in one of our offices you should have the originals of your driving license, passport and your credit-card with you. For additional drivers the original passport and driving license is necessary as well. It is impossible to hire a car without these original documents.
  • Our staff introduces you to our actual offers and take care of all necessary formalities and the booking.
  • You will receive the car's papers and keys.
  • While handling out the car you have occasion to clear all eventual questions with our staff. Possible failures of the car will be cleared and noted in this procedure, too. To avoid further disputes take a close look to the car and note eventual failures in the form, which our coworking will have at hands. For failures which haven't been noted during the handout, Hasso Rent a Car takes no liability.

3. Which documents are necessary to hire a car?

  • The original of a valid passport (As well necessary for additional drivers).
  • The original of a valid driving license. (As well necessary for additional drivers).
  • A valid credit card. (see next question, too)

4. How is the payment procedure?

  • We only accept payments by credit card (Visa, Eurocard, Diners and Amex)

5. Can I choose the model, colour, engine performance or type of fuel?

  • For technical reasons it's not possible to choose any further facilities, different from those mentioned in the group/category.
  • Though never hasitate ask us for your individual wishes, we will try our best to realize them, if we can.
  • When you are making your booking for the car please take good look at the car size , luggage and number of people that can be in the car - this is very important for your trip so that you feel good in the car when traveling.

6. Do I need a 4x4 car to drive in Iceland (see also next question)?

  • You do not need a 4x4 car when just traveling on the main road nr. 1.
  • HOWEVER, normal 2wd vehicles are not allowed to be driven on roads marked F on official maps and KJÖLUR, road nr. 35. and KALDIDALUR nr. 550.

7. What happens if I don't respect the driving restrictions and I drive a 2wd on one of the forbidded routes?

  • Normal 2wd vehicles are not allowed to be driven on roads marked F on official maps and KJÖLUR, road nr. 35. and KALDIDALUR nr. 550.
  • Should these restrictions be ignored all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, PAI), if accepted, shall be deemed null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of accidents and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repairation of the damaged vehicle. 8. Can the cars be delivered to any place in Reykjavik?

  • If you are staying in Reykjavik, we pick you up at your hotel free and bring you to our office./li>
  • With an extra fee of 5.000 isk, you can pick up your car also at the international airport of Keflavik.

9. Where and how will I return the car?

  • Come to our office with all the necessary papers and keys. Our staff will take care about the further formalities.
  • With an extra fee of 5.000 isk, you can leave the car at the international airport of Keflavik and we will come and pick it up there. Please contact the reservation office for further details.

10. How do you count the days of the car hire exactly?

  • The days are counted in sections of 24 hours from the daytime of pick up. Partial days must be paid full for reaseons of insurance.

11. Can trailer coupling, roof luggage carrier etc. be hired with the car?

  • A part from children seats, we do not offer any additional facilities.
